(Received 25-08-2024) - Jim & Yvonne - Complete Kitchen Design and Installation.
Planing: Yvonne contacted Andy (Bespoke Home Solution) about 10 months before we wanted work to start. Experience showed that leaving it to later increased the chances of not getting the engineers or date you wanted.
Andy and Louise (A&L) come as a complete package, designer (with your input), project manager (with your input), sourcing materials, engineering and construction (the only engineer this team calls in is a gas engineer). We had 4 visits from A&L, Yvonne had some ideas she wanted implementing. None of these phased A&L. We enjoyed these visits as it consolidated what we wanted and put it all in place. It's easy to run away with fantastic ideas and wishes. Even though A&L will try to accommodate these, practicality must step in.
A&L have done this for many years, Andy explained to me, some projects requested are like “Trying to squash a Humvee (very large flashy car) into a matchbox”. Their advice was welcome. With all projects the cost is a main factor. After taking advice and shopping around, the Bespoke Home Solution quote was very favourable. Considering you are getting the team that designs, plans and executes your wishes. This part of the contract was smooth and enjoyable.
The Work Phase: As with everything, the 6 Ps “Prior Planning and Preparation Prevents Poor Performance”. Helping A&L by having everything cleared out and ready to start work. Also a plan for how we were going to cook, eat, wash dishes and clothes had to be in place. Andy provided a timeline to help ease the lack of these basic needs. This also gave time to order and have white goods in place.
The big day arrived and A&L turned up on time ready to start. We had decided to visit family in the first two weeks, to avoid all the noise and dust. On our return the kitchen was clear and preparation for the next phase started. We enjoyed our morning coffee with A&L and talked about our joint interests and love of dogs. We were comfortable having A&L around the house and decided we would take the opportunity to visit family abroad, leaving them to get on with the installation.
A&L have a great work ethic and pride in their work. At the end of each day they cleaned up and left the work area clear. During our absence A&L kept us updated with photos of the progress. They made a stressful period a happy and calm experience.
As with everything in life the best laid plans never survive contact with the enemy. In this case the builders who built the house 25 years ago. This did not phase A&L, replacing disintegrating water pipes and navigating the spaghetti of slap dash electrical wiring. The installation and fitting of the kitchen was also hindered by substandard workmanship and confusing plumbing. These discoveries and rectification did add days to the completion date. A&L took this in their stride and produced a kitchen to be proud of. Even with the delays, the experience of having Andy & Louise around has been one we will always hold dear. So much so that we have asked them to complete a number of other jobs around the house.
You will have to look very long and hard to find such a devoted and professional team. Our Advice: Give them a try, you will not be disappointed.

Andy and Louise fitted a new bathroom in our address in Ruskington. The work involved completely overhauling the room from the floorboards up, including the removal of an airing cupboard to free up space. They fitted entirely new appliances, flooring and plumbing. My partner and I were consulted throughout the build about the design, costs and time; as a result, the room was completed perfectly. It is stunning.
Testament to their skill and experience, A&L displayed excellent judgement and were quick to offer ideas – they suggested a timeless design which is sure to seem modern for years, which looked much better than what we had in mind at first.
The entire process was stress-free, clean, and transparent. No corners were cut and no job was ignored. I'm still amazed at the work they have done – I'm more than happy for anyone local to Ruskington to see the build, or contact me for a reference.

We are now the proud owners of a beautiful ensuite thanks to Bespoke Home Solutions.
From the start to the end of the project, Andy and Louise were brilliant. We told them what we wanted and they worked out all the details to make sure our new ensuite is everything we wanted and so much more.
They have a great eye for design and are perfectionists; which was a real help to us. Nothing is too much trouble for them! Now the work is done, we can't believe it is the same room. It looks so much better than we had hoped for. Everyone says the finish is great!

So
I've lost a lot of faith for humanity over the years.
Occasionally,
I meet someone that restores my faith.
Last
night Louise Barratt and Andy Mahoney saved my ass.
I
have a very poorly fur baby, and found out while I was out in Lincoln, no
questions asked this couple reassured me, drove me back to Nottingham City
Centre without wanting anything in return son could get to the emergency vets
to be with my doggo.
Honestly,
the kindest people I've met in the last 10 years.
HUGE RESPECT for this couple! I can't say thank you
enough!

We asked Andy and Louise to clear a plot of land,
lay a suitable base and erect a Mercia summer house for us in August 2017.
They turned up on time every day, were great
company and always very polite.
The work was to an exceptional standard, including
the laying of an electric underground cable from the house to the summer house.
To our amazement they noticed a section missing
from my garden shed and at the end of the job repaired it at no cost.
I highly recommend this team and have already
requested that they refurbish 13 internal wooden doors for us, we look
forward to seeing them again in the near future.

'It was with pleasure I heard the news that Bespoke Home Solutions (Lincs) had been selected to go through to the
regional finals of the Screwfix Tradesman of the
Year 2015 as I feel it is richly deserved!
I have known Andy for around 6 months now. The
first job he did for me was an electrical one. One
of those annoying jobs that seem barely worth
calling someone out for but you can’t do yourself.
I
asked my neighbours if they knew anyone and his
name was put forward.
Because I work he was flexible and popped over
one evening to sort it for me.
Immediately I felt at ease and he was a
polite, courteous and tidy worker.
When a few months later I needed two taps replacing
he was the first person I called. This time I was
happy to leave him with a key so he could work in
the day whilst I was at work. Again a great job
done at a very reasonable price.
I had been planning a major overhaul of my garden
and I knew Andy was a general all rounder so I
contacted him and asked him to come and see me and
chat about what I was looking for and if he
felt it was something he could do. His enthusiasm
was infectious and I booked him in for the job.
As the time got nearer I gave him an outline of
what I wanted and where but because I had decided
to be away at the time of the work I explained I
was trusting his judgement to fill in the gaps in the
plan.
The time duly arrived, the dogs went to kennels and
keys were handed over ….. and off I went,
leaving behind a muddy mess ……..
The work he had to do was to turn a quagmire into a
peaceful, dog friendly haven and that is exactly
what he did. I have family and friends who are
green with envy.
Andy made cedar gates to span a width of about 5
meters.
He removed old tired shrubs and tonnes and tonnes
of soil and half dog dug up lawn and replaced
with gravel and a large piece of artificial turf
He also made me 6 beautiful planters and stained
them to my colour requests and painted my garage wall
Reed screening went up along one side of the garden
That description doesn't really do it justice
though or encompass what a vast change was made but the pictures do.
I got exactly what I wanted, in the budget I wanted
and within the timescale agreed ~ who can ask
for more?
I know that in future he will continue to be the
first person I turn to for any jobs and I can’t
recommend him highly enough'
